K-Family

One important way that Kiwanis clubs serve their communities is by sponsoring similar service organizations for young people. Getting young people involved in meaningful service activities benefits the community as well as helping to for the good character of the young people.


Builders Club for middle school students was launched in 1975  after middle school and junior high students started showing  interest in organizing to serve their home, school and community. With constant support from Kiwanis, Circle K, and Key Club, Builders Club has grown to a  membership of 44,000 middle school students in 1,500 clubs in 13 nations.

Key Club for high school students, first organized in 1925 is the  oldest youth program sponsored by Kiwanis. Today the organization is made up of 4,711 clubs with 234,528 members is 20 nations. More than 2 million youth have enlisted in Key Club since its inception. Our club is proud to sponsor the  Roosevelt High School Key Club and the Ursuline School Key Club.

Circle-K for college students has nearly 13,000 members on more than 500 college and university campuses. Circle K was started in Pullman, Washington and was formally organized as a service club in 1947.Circle K'ers are committed to leadership, service, and fellowship.

 

Kiwanis for adults was organized in 1915 in Detroit, Michigan, and is an organization of service- and community-minded individuals.  Kiwanis supports children and young adults all over the world. Kiwanis Clubs exist in 92 countries and have more than 600,000 members.

Aktion Club for adults living with disabilities was organized in October of 2000. There are currently more than 2,000 members in 89 clubs that develop leadership and initiative. Members are also provided with opportunities to serve their communities as well as an opportunity to demonstrate the dignity and value of people living with disabilities
